This high-quality double-jointed bit (also known as Baucher), with cheekpieces that extend upward to create leverage, is made of solid Cuprigan with stainless steel rings. Cuprigan is an alloy consisting of 89% copper, 7% aluminum, 3% iron, and 1% zinc. The oxidation process gives the material a pleasant smell and taste. The anatomical design of the bit follows the shape of the horse’s mouth, allowing for smooth, even pressure distribution. Combined with the unique properties of Cuprigan, this design encourages chewing and saliva production, providing a comfortable connection with the sensitive horse’s mouth. The cheekpieces are slightly angled outward, allowing optimal freedom of the horse’s head. Mouthpiece thickness: 12 mm, cheekpiece length: 110 mm.
The arm of a hanging bit extends upward from the ring with a small top ring for attaching the cheekpieces. Unlike other bits, this bit creates a slight leverage effect and applies pressure behind the horse’s ears. It is suitable for sensitive horses.
The double-jointed bit consists of three parts. The central section of the mouthpiece rests flat on the tongue, exerting more pressure on the tongue than a single-jointed bit. The thicker the central section, the more pressure it will apply to the tongue.
