Sweet Iron tips are known for the sweet taste of the mouthpiece. Additionally, the tips are anatomically shaped and available in many shapes and sizes. This Double Joint Dee-Ring Bit is made of solid stainless steel rings and a mild steel collet combined with a layer of soft iron on the collet (blue). Sweet iron stimulates the chewing process and saliva formation. When this material reacts with moisture, heat and air in a process called oxidation, the surface rust has a sweet taste. As a result, the horse will be more willing to accept the bit. The blue color disappears over time, but the taste of surface rust remains. The anatomical design of the bit follows the shape of the horse's mouth, allowing for smooth, even pressure distribution. The double joint drill bit consists of three parts. The center section of the mouthpiece sits flat on the reed, which puts more pressure on the reed than a single hinged tip would. The thicker the middle section, the more pressure it will create on the tongue. Nozzle thickness 14mm, ring size 65mm. The Dee-ring bit has fixed cheek pieces, so the aids will have a more direct effect. This type of bit is often easily accepted as it offers stability.
